Policy Forum: Culture and Creative Sector as a strategic force in the transformation of Europe

Introduction to the Policy forum by Johanna Hallin.

Johanna Hallin has 20+ years of leadership experience in a global context, and has written several book – the latest one on how cognitive empathy can serve executive decisions. Her current role is as senior project manager at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, working with strategic platforms for societal transformation and coordinating the RISE efforts in the EIT Culture & Creativity movement. Johanna’s passion for sustainable business has led her to professional pursuits in almost 75 countries, from Belarus promoting freedom of speech to Burma building democracy programs for children. She has founded and lead businesses in the creative sector, an investment fund for CCI ventures, and the Inter Business Foundation, an independent knowledge lab exploring holistic sustainability in a corporate context. She has also served as Global Strategy Director for the Kinnevik companies' international CSR: Reach for Change. During this time, Johanna led the organization’s international expansion to Russia, Kazakstan and across the African region. Johanna has diverse experience in business development through many Board of Directors roles as well. Outside the companies of Srey Invest, she currently serves as a Board member for Make Equal and Right By Me, and previously UNICEF Sweden, among others. She has a degree in journalism from Göteborg University.
